Thought for Easter: ‘A New Life safe with Christ’

“St. Paul’s letter to the Colossians was originally a message for a Christian people who were bogged down by the many concerns of life (the things that are on earth). He told them to set their minds on the higher things of God (the things that are above). The same malaise surely affects us all as we struggle with the stresses and strains of modern life. Life may from time to time seem like a series of hurdles. We say: “It’s just one thing after another!” Such is life and our faith may get quite a battering. But St. Paul has something profound to say to us today: ‘your life is hidden with Christ in God.’ In other words, our New Life is safe with Christ. Nothing can take this New Life away! Its full potential will be revealed in the fullness of time.

May we take comfort from this assurance, raise our game and follow Jesus Christ. He is Risen! Alleluia!

Pray:

  • For personal renewal in the Holy Spirit – and inspiration to follow Jesus on the right pathway.
  • For our life together and our mission.
  • For an end to the war in Syria.
  • For Christians serving the Lord in tough places -especially for Christians in Egypt, Pakistan & Syria.
