‘The First Sunday after Trinity’

‘When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Thought for the Week: ‘The Harvest is plentiful!’

‘The last lot of rain we had has really made everything very green. During some recent walks, I have been most appreciative of our beautiful countryside. The fields of barley and wheat are very green but soon they will turn white for the harvest. I would say that the ‘Modernism’ era following the second world war was very green, in so far as it was thought that science and technology would tend to our every need. Today in our postmodern world many people are saying that science and technology are not enough and that there must be more to life. The fields are certainly whitening but what does spirituality mean to people today? What really matters to people, young and old? After the election, many of us will need to think differently about a lot of things. The church as well!
