‘Palm Sunday’

‘The crowds that went ahead of him and that followed were shouting, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!’’ Matthew 21 v9

Thought for Holy Week: ‘Just another week?‘

‘How will you spend Holy Week? Will it be just another week or will it be a special week to grow in faith? It certainly wasn’t another week for Jesus as this week was the week that would change everything. Palm Sunday was a day of triumph and celebration as Jesus rode into Jerusalem. “Hosanna” they cried. The tone changed dramatically over the week. On Good Friday, they cried out “Crucify him!” Jesus, the human face of God, came to meet humanity with love. Jesus was met with evil. It is said that the Cross is the event where God and humanity meet. So, this was no ordinary week for Jesus and humanity. This is no ordinary week for us! This was the week when Jesus overcame the power of sin and death. This is the week when we can make more sense of our lives. This is the week to receive New Life!

Just another week? I don’t think so!
