For week beginning Sunday 30th April 2017

‘Easter 2017’

He is Risen! Alleluia!                            'The Road to Emmaus’

'When he was at the table with them, he took bread, blessed

and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; and he vanished from their sight.’       Luke 24 v30&31

Thought for the week: ‘The Lord is here!’

‘The two disciples walking to Emmaus knew that there was something extraordinary about man who joined them on the road. Jesus’ presence touched them deeply but for some mysterious reason they were kept from recognising him. Jesus’ resurrection body may have appeared different or they could never have imagined him alive. It was when Jesus took bread, blessed it, broke it and gave it to them that their eyes were opened. May we celebrate, know and recognise Jesus’ presence with us when we receive Holy Communion.

Pray:

·        For personal renewal in the Holy Spirit – and inspiration to follow Jesus on the right pathway.

·        For our life together and our mission.

·        For an end to the war in Syria.

·        For Christians serving the Lord in tough places -especially for Christians in Egypt, Pakistan & Syria.
